Abstract

Male infant, born at term at 41 weeks of gestation, who has had microcephaly since birth (with a head circumference of Hz -3.2). He is admitted at 5 months of age to the pediatric intensive care unit due to respiratory failure in the context of acute bronchiolitis. Given the history of microcephaly, a brain ultrasound and computed tomography scan are performed, revealing microcephaly, bilateral subependymal calcifications, and cerebral atrophy.
