Abstract

During the 54th National Congress of Pediatrics, held from June 3 to 5, 2026, tribute was paid to the career of the Editor-in-Chief of the Revista Pediátrica de Panamá, with the Congress dedicated to her in recognition of 19 years of editorial leadership. In her acceptance speech, she emphasized the collective nature of this achievement and acknowledged the contributions of the Panamanian Society of Pediatrics, former editors, the Editorial Committee, reviewers, collaborators, and authors. She also highlighted the journal’s evolution, particularly its transition from print to digital publication, the strengthening of its scientific quality, and its growing international reach. Finally, she reaffirmed the role of scientific publishing as a service to Panamanian pediatrics and expressed her hope that future generations will continue to promote research, academic excellence, and the dissemination of knowledge for the benefit of children and adolescents.
