Abstract

Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome is a neurological entity with clinical-radiological characteristics that occurs in the context of various clinical entities that undergo arterial hypertension or receive immunosuppression treatment or chemotherapy, showing various neurological symptoms coupled with the presence of suggestive images of edema in posterior regions of the brain in MRI, the gold standard for diagnosis. Its treatment is based on reducing or eliminating the triggering factor, with a resolution of symptoms in a few days or weeks, with a favorable prognosis; however, patients with permanent neurological sequelae and fatal outcomes have been described.
